Rearcross U-10's had to work hard to secure a slender one nil victory over Ballymackey 'B' at Rearcross FC Grounds on Saturday morning. Rearcross did the early pressing with efforts from Stephen Rochford and Eoin Sheldon not far away. The woodwork denied Rearcross on thirteen minutes when Andy Kinnane's effort came off the upright and then Stephen Rochford's looping shot was inches over seconds later. Ballymackey keeper Cillian Bergin had a fine outing for the Ballinree side and saved from Andy Kinnane on the fifteen minute mark. The pressure paid off a minute later when Paul Nolan linked up with Eoin Sheldon whose first touch was inch perfect as the ball nestled in the back of the net. The last action of the half saw Stephen Rochford break through the centre before unleashing a good effort that clipped the outside of the post. The home side attacked again in the second half and Cillian Kennedy crossed to Eoin Sheldon five minutes after the restart, however the Ballymackey custodian made a fine block. Brian Bergin was in the action again a minute later with a one handed save from Cillian Kennedy at the expense of a corner kick. The visitors piled on the pressue after this and it took some fine defensive play from Cian O'Toole, Sean Malone and Brian Nolan to keep Ballymackey at bay with Colm Lenihan also playing his part between the posts to keep a clean sheet securing all three points in the process for the green & whites.
